Thanks, I appreciate that a lot . I hope this will be a good, fun site for all the Gary fans out there. Check back often as I add stuff quite a bit. I'm a major ebay junkie and find lots of good stuff there.

Hi from the UK. I'm so excited to have found this fantastic, beautiful site. I made a dream come true 2 weeks ago when I paid my respects to Gary and Rocky in Southhampton. A special trip I had dreamed of for so long.

Welcome Maggie! I bet it was special to see where they are buried. I’m afraid I would just start crying and not be able to stop. I would like to go someday too though, tears and all . What part of the UK are you from? I live in Central Texas but I went to grad school in London back in 2000-2001. I also spent a few weeks in Canterbury in ’97 on a study abroad trip. Both times I was able to travel around quite a bit in the West, the Midlands, and one trip up to Edinburgh. Outside of TX and the U.S., England is my favorite place so I guess it’s just natural that I love Gary since he had British roots .

Well, we are indeed international ! I live in the south of France although I'm an American by birth : so we've got the US, Austria, Britain, France ... anywhere else out there? Maggie, I thought Gary was buried in or near Los Angeles : is it Southampton instead? I would love to know where, as I am more likely to get to England sometime soon than to California.
I recently got an end of term present from my students : a 45 Euro gift certificate ... Guess where the money went? I am now the proud owner of the following DVD's : Meet John Doe, Morocco, and (soon to arrive) a Farewell to Arms and Fighting Caravans. Just consider these 4 different films and you wonder where anybody got the idea that Gary Cooper was a one-dimensional actor....

Gary was first buried in Los Angeles but a few years later after Rocky and Maria had moved to New York city, they had him moved to Southhampton in New York state. Very good point about those four films you just got. They are all different characters. Those are all very good ones too .

Sorry about the delay in replying. I was from the 51st State !!! Liverpool, But now live in North Wales. I was in a daze and couldnt quite get the connection between that big pink boulder marking Gary's resting place and me being there. My companion walked away and said I'll leave you, Take your time. I sat and wrote a message and placed it under a little stone on that beautiful boulder. The grave is simple and just like Gary, no heirs and graces just perfect

Thanks Kim! I'm gonna post the pic without the text in the colorized section, I just haven't gotten around to it yet. I would colorize more pics of him but the men seem to be trickier than the women. I'm really happy with the ways the eyes came out especially.

Thank you, coopsgirl, for this wonderful site! I have been a Gary Cooper fan all my life. I don't have a daughter, but I'm sure if I had one she too would have fallen in love with him. I've been looking for a video you uploaded in youtube, the song was "I'm mad about the boy", I thought it was great and marked it favorite. Now I can't find it. Can you tell me what happened? Thank you again for the opportunity to view so many pictures and videos of Gary.

Hello Coopsgirl and everybody, I want to congratulate you also for the magnificent work you're doing. I love your site and honestly I spend embarrassingly many hours every day (even at the office ;O) just gazing at Cooper's photos. Although I considered myself a film buff I hadn't watched a single Gary Cooper film until three months ago, when I watched Love in the Afternoon and was hooked by the end of the film! Eversince I've watched High Noon, They came to Cordura, Ball of Fire, The Fountainhead and Mr. Deeds Goes to Town. Some of these films are good some not so good but I love his performances in each and every one of these films. I have a soft spot for him as Mr. Deeds though (how I wish I were Jean Arthur for even a second ) I've had a crush on other actors in the past (Ian Richardson, an excellent now defunct English character actor), Claude Rains (obviously!), Marlon Brando but boy! this is nothing like that. Sorry for my English (I'm from Greece). Keep up the very good work!

Welcome georgygirl and thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you like the site. I had several Greek friends when I was in graduate school in London a few years ago. I agree about having crushes on actors but there being something different about Gary. He's just special . I'm always adding new stuff so keep checking back.
