I just finished watching this. Really moving and the cast was very good. I loved how at first the old lady was put "in probation" but eventually Kenneth really grew so close to her and by the end he was so affectionate almost like her own son. And what a pair of legs It reminded me of what Audrey Hepburn's character says in Love in the Afternoon about her alpine guide ("dimples on his knees") It's a pity they haven't restored it though; it's a small and humble but very good film and Gary Cooper is so unbelievably good looking you can't take your eyes off of him.

This is a very good and moving film. It's definitely very different b/c there aren't many films that deal with a love relationship that isn't romantic but purely familial. There are a lot of movies that focus on families but there is still usually a romantic element somewhere and there isn't in this one. It's a little strange at first that this woman made up a son from a soldier's name she saw in the paper and then actually meets him, but then it turns very sweet and poignant as they both realize they need each other. Also you get to see Gary's legs and that's always a good thing .
