Here's a video I put together of some of my favorite moments from his films. Most are silly like when he takes his shirt off but I can't help it, those are some of my favorite moments. You can see it bigger here. www.youtube.com/watch?v=syhsAxTIdHcWhat are your favorite moments?

Great video, as usual ! I have many favorite moments and some of them already are in your video... Others that comes to my mind now are the scene in Saratoga Trunk when Ingrid is playing the piano and Gary is staring at her, the moment in High Noon when Gary cries and when he gets drunk in Love in the Afternoon. There are so many more of them, of course! I was wondering, from what movie is that scene in the video when Gary is sleeping in the bathtub?

I like that scene too from Saratoga Trunk and the scene from High Noon where he cries is a little is also my fave! I just didn't put it in the video b/c you can really see his face . The bathtub movie is The Story of Dr. Wassell (1944). I loooove that scene and the first time I saw it my mouth just dropped open.

Hi everybody, this will be the first time I actually participate or air my humble opinion (although I've been reading all your responses and knowledgeable comments avidly). All these video snippets are my favourite (sorry for the spelling....here in SA we were taught the UK spelling way!). In addition to the scenes shown in your awesome video: in Friendly Persuasion when Gary and Dorothy come back from spending an evening in the barn and he takes hold of her arm, looks back wistfully at the barn and appeals to her that they go back there some time soon! In Mr Deeds Goes to Town, when Longfellow calls over the violinist in the restuarant and watches Jean's reaction while the violinist serenades her ... his eyes/smile reflect his soul.....Oh man it just takes my breath away......Anyway, every scene he's in is my favourite!!! Great post! I haven't posted much either but I absolutely love this website and have been a most avid Gary fan for nearly 40 years. Those are some wonderful scenes you describe and I'm sure most of us on this site can recollect them easily. I might add that I recently watched some of Mr. Deeds and realized that Frank Capra did an amazing job of focusing on Gary's face in the last part of the movie, during the hearing, when Mr. Deeds refused to speak on his own behalf. I just love those close-ups and also some that were shot during Meet John Doe. Diana
