I was at the post office today, when I noticed a picture of a Gary Cooper stamp. I innerly "Squee!"d, of course, and then asked the postal worker about it. The stamp is part of the U.S. Postal Service's "Legends Of Hollywood" series and is to be issued on September 10. [So, in about two-and-a-half weeks.]

Going to contact the U.S postal service to find out about buying them. Got a friend who collects stamps maybe he'll know, or just go online.

Here's a link to information about the stamp unveiling ceremony. It sounds like it's going to be a pretty big deal and I think that's awesome ;D. www.beachcalifornia.com/blog/?p=2051

The price of postage has risen since they designed the stamp so that's why the price is different. I'm glad you were able to get some.

Did think that was the case as the date in the write up was 2008. I Managed to buy the "Gary Cooper Book" by David Thompson. Interesting to see what he's uncovered in his research. I found "Coopers Women" by Jane Ellen Wayne. An intimate biography, intriguing with its inside stories.

That's a good topic Maggie. It might be better if you started another thread for it so people could more easily find it.

Our post office closes at 4:15 and if I leave work at my regular time (3:30) I would get there just as they are closing. I had to pick up an international package once and I got there about 5 minutes before they closed and I was able to get it but I thought I was gonna have to spend the night there as they locked the front door after I came in and then I had to get them to unlock it so I could get out. Anyway, long story short, I get off earlier on Fridays and I will go by today and pick mine up. ;D
