I thought it would be fun to find out which "Gary" is everyone's favorite. I voted for Western Gary. I didn't even like Westerns before I started watching his films but those are some of my faves of his. I especially like him in High Noon, The Westerner, and The Hanging Tree. If I've left off your favorite Gary, just add a comment below.

Hey, good idea this poll!!! This is a hard question since I believe that we all here love every kind of Gary...but I think I have a special crush on the western Gary. I love watching Coop wearing cowboy clothes.

That's a hard one as I do really like him in westerns but my top three favorite movies have him as a military and religious figure in Sergeant York, Friendly Persuasion and They Came to Cordura. So I would say my favorite kind of Gary Cooper would be a religious continuous objector who fights or a military coward who becomes a hero.

A very difficult choice, coopsgirl! I love him as a cowboy, as a soldier, as a regular guy... but I've always loved him the most as John Doe, he's marvelous in that movie, when he enters the room where Barbara and her boss are interviewing candidates, HE IS John Doe, not Gary Cooper, and I LOVE HIM ! To me that's the best scene in that film, and it's a fantastic movie.

I like Gary most in a suit, tie and white shirt. The elegant style. Matches his handsome features perfectly, lets him look like a model. And he WAS a model, indeed. So I voted "regular" Gary. I can't see enough of him as Mr. Deeds, the professor in Ball of fire or in 'Bluebeard's eighth wife' But that does not mean that I don't like him as soldier or cowboy. I also loved him in his simple farmer style in Doomsday. Ena

Eep. That was hard. I was kind of torn between Soldier Gary and Regular Gary, but I ended up going with regular because I tend to like his comedies the most, and in those he's usually just regular Gary. (And very adorable. ;D)

Yes, it's very difficult... considering that I was thinking of Robert Jordan from "For whom the bells toll", I didn't know where to place my vote... I voted for soldier though, it was the closest... ;D

For me it's a tie between regular suit Gary and western Gary. I loved his looks in For Whom the Bell Tolls, The Westerner or Mr Deeds but could care less about that boyish 1920s looks or the late 50s Western pictures he did.
