Does anyone know if I can get hold of a copy of "Now and Forever" on either DVD or VHS and from where?

I looked, Amazon has them. Here are the links: VHSDVDIt appears that the VHS is the colorized version of the movie. I believe the DVD version is the original black and white, but it comes with two other Shirley Temple movies [although, one is a short].

A Claudette Colbert box set is scheduled to be released by Universal in November and it looks like it will contain Bluebeard’s Eighth Wife. This has not yet been released on dvd in Region 1 but does play on TCM from time to time and is available in Region 2. The print is flawless and this should look great on a real dvd. classicflix.blogspot.com/Universal owns the Paramount catalog of films made between 1929 and 1949 and in the past they have been very reticient to release them. Over the past few years a few have trickled out and now it seems like they are finally opening up the vaults a little wider. Earlier in the spring they released a Pre-Code Collection of all Paramount titles. I snatched it up right away as did many others to show their support. I will definitely buy this one as well.

You can find a lot of rare movies at this site and they are usually pretty cheap. They do have some copies of Ten North Frederick for sale. It's a good one too. www.ioffer.com/

MGM is releasing another box set of four of Gary's films on Nov 3, 2009 that they have previously released individually. So while these aren't new releases, if anyone needs these films, this will be a cheaper way to get them. The films are: The Westerners, Pride of the Yankees, Along Came Jones, and Man of the West www.amazon.com/Gary-Cooper-Star-Collection/dp/B002M9WW3U

More great news on the Gary dvd front. It was rumored back in the early summer that another major studio was going to go the burn on demand route like Warner's and it was just announced by TCM that they are partnering up with Universal for a similar venture. I was hoping it would be them and I'm so excited I'm about to bust!!!!!!!! One of their first releases with be a Cary Grant boxset (titles will also be availabe individually) and one of them is The Devil and The Deep starring Gary and Tallulah Bankhead from '32. The copy circulating around is pretty bad and I can't wait until January to get it!! It looks like they are the same price as WB's at $20 a pop. Unlike Warner's though, Universal will sometimes include extras and also they have said all there releases will be digitally remastered. This is fantastic news as we now have a chance to get good quality copies of his early films. www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/294403/universal-and-tcm-s-partnership-for-made-to-order-dvd

Hi Angie,
I just wanted you to know that movies unlimited has "The Devil and the Deep" listed for release on January 26st.
The Devil And The Deep (1932) Now Accepting Advance Orders! - Available on 01/26/10 Intense drama stars Charles Laughton as a mentally unstable naval officer whose jealousy forces wife Tallulah Bankhead into the arms of lieutenant Cary Grant. When Grant shows up for duty aboard his submarine, Laughton goes off the deep end and collides the vessel with a freighter. When a struggle for command between the two men ensues, stowaway Bankhead attempts to convince the crew that her spouse is insane. Paul Porcasi, Juliette Compton co-star. Soundtrack: English. Category: Drama Format: DVD - B&WRated: NRCatalog #: D05286 Was $24.99 Now $19.99
It's strange that it is in a Cary Grant box set since he was only in the movie for one scene but I'm not complaining. On the one Gary Cooper bio they show a scene from it that looks a thousand times better than the bootleg we got. I probably go with the whole box set as it will more than likely go for 30 dollars for three movies where the one movie will cost us 20 dollars by its self.

Well it looks like I was wrong on the price as they do have the whole collection of three movies listed but it shows a 34.99 price tag. This certainly will not deter me from picking it up. Cary Grant: The Early Paramount Years Now Accepting Advance Orders! - Available on 01/26/10 Three-disc set includes "The Devil and the Deep," "The Eagle and the Hawk," and "The Last Outpost" (1935). Category: Comedy Format: DVD - B&WRated: NRCatalog #: D05287 Was $39.99 Now $34.99 Here's the link to the search resulsts. The collection is listed about 5 down: www.moviesunlimited.com/musite/product.asp?sku=D05286++It's on the TCM pages as well for that price but no picture yet: turnerclassic.moviesunlimited.com/product.asp?sku=D05287I'm not going to be a very big fan of ordering from TCM or movies unlimted as they charge me shipping and sales tax since I am a PA resident. It actually is going to come to 42.29 for the Cary Grant box set for me.

I received the Claudette Colbert collection today and only watched Bluebeard's Eigth Wife so far. It is a superior print compared to the R2 version, VHS and TCM prints I have. It looks like it was taken from the original negative and restored as I could find no print damage of any type in my viewing. I'm very happy to get this print to this great movie and look forward to watching the other 5 movies in the set.
